Lightly peat, new spirit distilled at 90% and bottled down to 50%
C: water
N: vanilla ice cream, clean, fresh, green apple peer, mint, honey, heather, cinnamon
T: light, spicy, oil, fresh, some mint, honey and a little bitter
F: short, cinnamon, mint candy
B: drinkable
Lightly Peat 10ppm
C: light yellow
22 N: fresh cream, vanilla, some smoky oak cask, camembert cheese, yellow fruit, sweet, toffee, slightly peat at the end
21 T: light, a little dry, but full of texture, grapefruit, vanilla, sweet and fruity
21 B: good balanced both for nosing and tasting, enjoyable
3. First Growth 16yo Chateau Lafite 46%
Lightly Peat 3ppm
C: light amber, light gold
21 N: fresh, light fruit, peach, pear, orange, honey, then just like Fanta?
21 T: medium, a little dry, fruity, smoky, peay, round and smooth, raisin, plum, cock apple
21 B: balanced! But a little stirred?
C: yellow gold
23 N: rich fruit, orange, tangerine, peach, pineapple, pear, very fruity. Followed by some pudding, apricot, honey, then some smoke wood cask, good layers
22 T: medium, round and rich, sweet and elegant, fruity, orange, pineapple, peach, plum, honey
22 B: good balanced. Very beautiful and good layers. Impressive!
5. Golder Still 198 23yo 51%
C: yellow gold
24 N: toffee, tropical fruit, a little coconut, plum, cream, honey, lemon cake, sweet and complexes. w/ rich and plenty fruit of flavors
23 T: medium, a little dry, toffee, raisin, vanilla, oil, then plum, rich and warm, very fruity, fine oak cask!
21 B: good balanced! Good layers and complexes. Very enjoyable!
PS. Blacker Still: Oloroso sherry cask; Redder Still: Chateau Lafleur
Peat 40ppm
C: light amber, red gold
22 N: heavily peat, salty, dash, dusty, smoke wood cask. Then some heather, walnut, apple peer after added some water
22 T: light->medium, a little dry, bitter, ginger. full texture and rich peat, heather
22 B: balanced. Well matured!
Heavily peat 131ppm
C: light yellow
22 N: peaty, much more peaty, salty, sea weed, smoky, a little vanilla
22 T: medium, very creamy, sweet peat, salty, dry. A little burn at the throat
21 B: balanced.
這次Bruichladdich品酒會讓我對這家蒸餾廠過去的印象有蠻大的改變,尤其是口感部份. 可能是因為PC7的進步讓我印象較深刻的緣故(當然個人還是偏好PC5多一些). 另外就是Golder Still,一點都不像只有23yo的酒,甚至比喝過的幾支Legacy酒質都要來的好,只可惜沒有23yo的價位,不然肯定敗他的幾支…
此外, 品酒會中聽到Andrew說明酒廠對艾雷島當地的農業,如使用島上生產的大麥的比例已達到60%,廠內25%用電量使用潮汐發電,雇用島上46位人工,再來就是酒廠的堅持,不加焦糖,不使用冷凝過濾等,再再讓我對這次的主題: “Dare to be different” 留下深刻的印象及讚賞.
