此曲為美國鄉村歌手兼詞曲作家Ned Miller自寫自唱，1957發行後成績亮眼，在告示牌鄉村榜奪得了第2名，並橫跨流行榜獲得第6名。另在英國的單曲榜也是第2名，而在愛爾蘭則是冠軍曲。

翻唱此曲的有Jim Reevers(1962)、Bill Anderson(1963)、Jerry Lee Lewis(1982)、南非歌手RayDylan及瑞士家庭樂團Oesch's die Dritten(2012)等。貓王Elvis則是在1969推出他的版本，可惜未能打進排行榜。倒是美國鄉村歌手Ricky Van Shelton在1988的版本，拿下了熱門鄉村榜的冠軍。

歌詞看起來淺顯，或許覺得自己的條件並不怎麼樣，卻意外贏得了對方的芳心。無論是愛情還是事業，鴻運當頭也非不可能，而歌中的老兄至少還打出了一張Ace王牌，也算還是有點實力。不過，有些事情也很難說，娶了個漂亮、條件好的老婆，恐得每天「提心吊膽」，反而不如就還是當個Jack ( 騎士 ) 來得快樂。呵呵！
