1988，美國鄉村男歌手Dwight Yoakam發行了他的第3張專輯《Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room》，此專輯共有兩首冠軍曲，其一為他之前與另位歌手Buck Owens合唱的《Streets of Bakersfield》，另為由Yoakam自己所譜寫的一首《I Sang Dixie》。專輯的成績相當亮眼，獲得告示牌鄉村專輯榜的第1名。唯與專輯同名，為主打歌的這首《Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room( She Wore Red Dresses)》，未如預期，只得到鄉村榜的第46名。

Dwight Yoakam有其獨特的嗓音及喜歡扭動臀部的表演方式，知名鄉村歌手前輩Johnny Cash就曾說Yoakam是他喜歡的歌手。但台長卻有不同的看法，認為他過於喜歡使用鼻音與假音，感覺有些「弄巧成拙」。也因此，台長幾乎不聽他的歌。

此曲為Dwight Yoakam自己所寫，歌曲的旋律是還不錯聽，而令人驚訝的是歌詞的內容：大意是講述「在一起」的女子，穿著紅色洋裝忽然就和別的男人跑了，且留下孩子讓他獨自照顧。男人氣瘋了，四處搜尋還真的被他找到，趁著這對男女在睡覺，男主角竟用槍將女子給「轟」了。這種超激烈的感情報復歌曲，並不是很常見 ( 錯誤示範 切勿仿傚！ )。又，歌名的Buenas Noches為西班牙文，是「晚安」的意思。
