英國歌手Engelbert Humperdinck ( 英格伯‧漢普汀克 ) 原名Arnold George Dorsey，1936出生於英屬印度的Madras ( 馬德拉斯 )，父親為英軍士官，10歲時才遷回英國。由於父親為威爾斯血統，另稱母親有德國血緣，然諸多資料顯示，Humperdinck應為英-印混血兒。

Engelbert Humperdinck約在50年代中期就已出道，使用Gerry Dorsey作為為藝名，直到1965和曾住在一起的室友Gordon Mills合作，作為他的經紀人，Mills建議他改名，才使用Engelbert Humperdinck重新出發。此舉果然有效，1967，Humperdinck以一首翻唱的《Release Me》奪下英國排行榜的冠軍，同年再以《The Last Waltz》、《There Goes My Everything》分別攻下英國排行榜的第1、2名，看來該時期Humperdinck的聲勢正旺。隨著成功的腳步，1968再推出專輯《A Man Without Love》，同名單曲也再登上亞軍寶座 ( 專輯則獲得專輯榜的第3名 )。

此首《A Man Without Love》為由義大利歌曲《Quando M’innamoro》( 當我墜入愛河？) 改編而來，Humperdinck算是翻唱高手，詮釋歌曲相當有一套。或許是先入為主，Tom jones也翻唱Humperdinck的版本，但感覺上就少了一些那麼的况味。

2012，Humperdinck以76歲的高齡代表英國，參加在亞塞拜然舉辦的「歐洲歌唱大賽」，可惜成績不佳，只獲得第25名 ( 倒數第2名 )。
