每一件你所喜愛的事物都有啟蒙，在國中第一次聽到悲慘世界的音樂之後便正式開始對音樂劇的癡狂，連帶對雨果、法國和浪漫主義文學產生濃厚的興趣。後來買了兩個版本的音樂劇錄音，過了這麼多年，總會在某些時間播上幾遍Do you hear the people sing或是Stars；這幾年聽聞Tom Hooper將翻拍音樂劇的電影版變非常期待，尤其是推出的cast非常吸引人，而一切的想像和期待便在今天這158分鐘正式圓滿。

每一件你所喜愛的事物都有啟蒙，在國中第一次聽到悲慘世界的音樂之後便正式開始對音樂劇的癡狂，連帶對雨果、法國和浪漫主義文學產生濃厚的興趣。後來買了兩個版本的音樂劇錄音，過了這麼多年，總會在某些時間播上幾遍Do you hear the people sing或是Stars；這幾年聽聞Tom Hooper將翻拍音樂劇的電影版變非常期待，尤其是推出的cast非常吸引人，而一切的想像和期待便在今天這158分鐘正式圓滿。
當「Look Down, Look Down, You're standing in your grave」這句一唱出來，搭配浩大的罪犯奴工場面，光這第一個鏡頭就讓人覺得一切都值了，這部電影將會非常過癮。事實上這部電影就是改編自音樂劇，而音樂劇又改編自小說，所以一直吹毛求瑕去尋找電影所缺乏的要素是很不必要的，進到電影院來就好好享受吧，感覺戲院還配合著把音響開得更大聲呢。
看電影前只有昨天在車上播了兩次精華版的原聲帶，所以某些曲子一時還想不起來，但一唱出來就會覺得非常懷念呢，對於迷戀音樂劇版本的觀眾而言這部電影非常適合，以前總覺得DVD的演出不夠細膩場景也不夠大，這部電影完全滿足自己的期待！
選角或許是這部電影成功的最大原因了。有傳聞說這次歌聲都是演員現場收音，或許跟專業音樂劇演員比起來有點不足，但畢竟他們只是一般的電影演員阿！可以唱到這樣子已經超級強大！而且除了Javert之外每個人唱歌時臉上的表情都非常豐富，同時用歌聲和肢體動作傳遞訊息，對於習慣台詞表達的人來說可能有點不習慣吧？而且導演非常喜歡近距離的人物特寫，有時反而讓人覺得浪費掉這麼浩大的場景呢！Fantine在電影前段一曲I Dreamed A Dream唱得所有人肝腸寸斷，也難怪Anne Hathaway會以這一角色得到這麼高的評價了。
而作品中對於Jean Valjean和Javert永不休止的對立在處理上是簡單了點，不過也算是有把重點提到，經典的曲目The Confrontation來得突然，短短幾段卻是緊張的氣力萬鈞！只是Jean Valjean逃脫得有點不夠帥就是了。說到Javert其實一直是自己最喜歡的角色，很多人說他偏直或是不講理，但換個角度想，他或許是那個亂世下最常出現的一種代表性人物，他選擇將世界上的事情簡化為單純的黑與白，他執法認真，他希望對抗所有的不正義，或是這跟他的出生有關，也可能是他對這個社會的認識有關，我想他並不壞，甚至於，他比自己所想像的更為軟弱。當他對於廣場上滿地的年輕屍骸感到震懾，當他因為Jean Valjean不殺他報仇而難以理解，代表他所建構的世界已經悄然崩壞，但他想不該怎麼繼續生活在截然不同的環境，只好以死來成全他所能保有的最後堅持，真是徹頭徹尾的悲劇男子阿...只是stars一曲在電影裡編的版本稍有遜色，幸好最後的自盡戲拍得非常棒，扳回一城阿。
後半段的革命戲絕對是萬眾矚目，但在節奏的掌控上感覺是比較亂一點，青年革命者們塑造的不夠強，在形象上給人的感覺比較模糊，但或許這樣更貼近於這檔失敗的革命吧？後半段扛起不少段落的Eddie Redmayne相當優秀，雖然在帥氣度上Marius略遜於Aaron Tveit飾演的Enjolras，但是歌聲和情竇初開的樣子都相當優秀阿。而我最愛的Amanda Seyfried戲份不多，只要一登場我就直直盯著螢幕＞／／／＜。另外由演音樂劇出身的Samantha Barks則將最慘烈的角色Éponine詮釋得賺人熱淚阿阿阿，最後倒在Marius懷裡死去的橋段也夠傷心的了。喔當然一定要提到酒館夫婦Sacha Baron Cohe與Helena Bonham Carter，真的是每個角色都大有來頭呢。
電影的最後Jean Valjean一家人(?)聚在教堂裡，有笑有淚的接到大合唱最ending大約是最好的方式了。兩個半小時的電影一點都不覺得長，回到家只想狂聽劇中曲目阿阿。
