在第一隻柴犬跑完回程時，迎面一位健跑的中年男子，遠遠看到我就停在原地，心想待會近距離碰上要跟他點個頭示意：謝謝他暫時先讓我過...
到了面對面時，男子劈頭說：你這樣是在虐待動物，你騎著車，牠跑步，你怎麼不下來自己跑跑看...，我當時楞了一下，頭也沒來得及點，尷尬地笑著而去。
回到駐點後，我點起一根煙，想了想那男子的話，忽然覺得很委屈，心好像被狠狠刺了一下...
在這個特訓一開始時，我知道是利用機車牽著狗兒跑步時，心裡也曾疑惑了一下，這樣....好嗎？
因為立志走不體罰，不強迫和遊戲方式訓練狗兒的，所以力道與停止時機都尚能掌控，加上1個小時半之內要帶完至少5隻狗跑步，如果一個小時半雙腳都不停地跑，體能還不錯的我，接下來上班也還是要喊救命，所以綜合現實，為了讓每隻狗都有機會運動到而不影響到正常上班，也就順隨著這樣的方式帶狗跑步。
只是每天仍會有那麼幾次，在跑的當下，看著身邊的狗，心裡真的會冒出：牠開心嗎？這樣的跑步方式...
唯一能讓我比較釋懷的是每當我喊著馬上要訓練的那隻狗名字，一邊替牠套上牽繩時，狗兒都是開心地搖著尾巴的。第一次會這麼想：牠們是不知道待會要幹甚麼？幾個禮拜下來後，狗兒仍然出現這樣的情緒，讓我就比較放心了。
只是今天男子的一番話又讓我想起心中的結，但這次我不再怪自己為何也這樣做，因為我知道這樣做不代表就是不好，今天你用雙腳帶狗跑步，強度與拉扯力道都很重，這樣就真的比我騎著車帶狗跑，強度與力道都隨時注意的還要好？想到這裡，我心裡便好很多了。
下午，當我和一起特訓的同事說起早晨這一段事後，他憤憤不平地說，要是他一定回嘴回去，我們兩個人每天早上5點多起床，6點公司集合，然後樓上樓下地搬狗籠、圍片，而這一切都不支薪，9點特訓結束後，我們才開始一天正常的打卡上班，每天這樣持續了幾個禮拜，我們曾經喊吃不消，曾經很想偷懶，不過都咬牙下來，為的是不想讓我們的繁殖場像外界想像的：整天關在籠子裡，只做交配。
而那位男子說我們在虐待狗...心真的會碎
這份工作本是我自願選擇的，沒資格拿來說嘴，但心裡還是很想讓那男子知道。我每天從早上9點到晚上7點，不停地清狗大便，清狗籠，為牠們磨飼料，利用中午休息時間，摸撫比較沒人理的狗，和牠玩...而你說我是虐待狗的人，真的有點情何以堪，被人誤解的滋味不好受你知道嗎？尤其那個被你誤解說教的人因為太愛狗了，不遠千里離開家裡，離開心愛的狗，隻身到外地學習狗兒的知識...
而你偶而路過，碰見我們的行為，自我地下評論：我們在虐待狗...
心裡很難受，但我不羞愧，不後悔！
