『重返馬來亞:政治與歷史思想』國際學術研討會
Revisiting Malaya: International Conference on Political and Historical Thoughts

由亞際書院「亞洲現代思想計劃」(新馬辦公室)主辦,華社研究中心、吉隆坡暨雪蘭莪中華大會堂協辦『重返馬來亞:政治與歷史思想』國際學術研討會將在2014年8月2至3日,於吉隆坡隆雪華堂二樓會議廰舉行。會議目的是希望(1)重返「馬來亞」歷史現場,發掘它與東南亞、亞洲相互關聯的問題意識;(2)重新聯繫與馬來世界的歷史關係,梳理在後冷戰與後殖民情境底下,馬來亞問題對當前歷史與政治狀態的影響;(3)建立多語的知識討論空間,讓不同地方的歷史與知識經驗與實踐可以相互參照。

會議將設有三組的研討組,分別為:馬來群島政治思潮、左翼思想與政治以及馬來亞意識與認同。(*現場將提供中英/英中同步口譯)

我們很高興能邀請馬來西亞國民大學馬來西亞與國際研究所榮譽教授Abdul Rahman Embong以及新加坡歷史學者Hong Lysa發表兩場主題演講。

共有29位來自馬來西亞、新加坡、印尼、香港、台灣、東京、沖繩和中國的學者、文化人、電影人、社運份子將擔任論文發表者、討論人及圓桌論壇的發言人。

研討會在6月初將開放報名系統,由於場地座位有限,只開放約30個名額,屆時歡迎大專生、知識人及關心這課題的朋友,出席聆聽與交流。

We are pleased to invite you to “Revisiting Malaya: International Conference on Political and Historical Thoughts” which will be held on 2 & 3 August at KL &Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall. This event is organized by the Inter-Asia School-Modern Asian Thought project (Singapore & Malaysia Office), and is co-organized by the Center for Chinese Malaysian Studies and KL & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.

The main objectives of this conference are to: (1) Revisit the historical scenes of Malaya, exploring the problematical issues within Malaya, Southeast Asia and the entire region of Asia; (2) Reconnect the historical relationship with the Malay world, examining the impacts of the ‘Malaya problems’ on contemporary history and politics under the post-Cold War and the postcolonial situation; (3) Create a platform for multilingual intellectual discussions, in order to make reference to the different historical and intellectual experiences and practices among Asian countries.

Three panels will be held in this conference, they are: (1) ‘Political Thoughts in Malay Archipelago’ , (2) ‘Thoughts and Politics of the Left, and (3) ‘Malayan Consciousness and Recognition’ . (* Chinese<>English simultaneous interpretation will be provided)

29 speakers (academic scholars, cultural intellectuals, film directors and social activists) coming from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tokyo, Okinawa and China will join the conference as presenters and discussants.

Registrations will start in early June. Due to limited seating, only 30 places will be opened to public. We welcome all undergraduates, graduates, intellectuals and those who are interested in the topics to join us in the discussions.
