BMW has successfully upgraded its bread and butter 3 series in this iteration. The new generation is not only bigger, more luxurious, and equipped with more upscale accessories.

The new innovations include active steering, iDrive, keyless start, 6-speed automatic transmission. The rear seats gain not only in size, but also air ducts to keep rear seat passengers comfortable. The cabin is also much quieter than the previous generation.

The new look is a big departure from previous generation, closer to current 5 and 7 series. The large headlights and the flowing body lines reminiscence of the 5 series. It looks more like a luxury sedan than a compact sport now.

The new suspension set up successfully eliminated some of the touchiness in hard corners of the previous generation, creating a smooth and stable sensation. However, the overall cornering limit has increased. It’s much easier to drive in high speed corners. Combining with the active steering, attacking mountain paths is like driving a formula car, easy and effortless.

With increased equipments comes with increased price. Fully equipped, the new 330i cost much more than previous 330i, but, that is the price of innovation.
