A giant panda at a Hong Kong entertainment park failed to live up to its name after it bit the leg of one of its keepers, a spokeswoman said.

一名女發言人表示，一座香港遊樂園裡的一隻大貓熊因為咬了牠的飼養員的一條腿，以至於名不副實。

"An An", whose Chinese name translates as "Peace", bit the experienced female keeper as she was laying bamboo leaves in the panda’s habitat, a spokeswoman for Ocean Park said.

海洋公園一名女發言人說，這名經驗豐富的女飼養員在貓熊棲息區鋪放竹葉時，被這隻中文名叫「安安」，翻譯成英文意思是「和平」的貓熊咬了。

"Ocean Park immediately provided first aid to the panda keeper, and arranged for an ambulance to take the panda keeper to the hospital for medical treatment," the spokeswoman added.

「海洋公園立即對該貓熊飼養員施以急救，並安排救護車將該貓熊飼養員送醫接受治療。」該女發言人補充說。

The panda keeper was recovering well and the panda was in good health. An investigation into the "isolated case" on November 30 was now underway, the spokeswoman said.

這名貓熊飼養員正逐漸康復，該貓熊也很健康。該女發言人說，已針對這起發生於11月30日的「單一事件」展開調查。

An An and another panda, Jia Jia, arrived in Hong Kong in 1999 as gifts from the Beijing government to mark the return of the former British colony to China.

「安安」與另一隻貓熊「佳佳」是在1999年被北京政府當成禮物送抵香港，以紀念這個前英國殖民地的主權回歸中國。
