美國民主黨總統參選人希拉蕊(Hillary Clinton)的競選總幹事波德斯達(John Podesta)3日表示，地產大亨川普(Donald Trump)並不準備讓這個國家安全。

在川普拿下印地安納州初選，儼然成為共和黨預定的總統提名人之後，波德斯達發表聲明說，川普過於引發爭議，而且缺乏引領美國和這個自由世界的性格。在這麼多的危險下，川普根本就是一個大風險。相較之下，他表示，希拉蕊則擁有讓美國人在這個不確定的世界中安全的力量。

根據美國有線電視新聞網(CNN)報導，川普3日在印地安納州初選的得票率為52.8%，遠勝對手德州聯邦參議員克魯茲(Ted Cruz)的36.6%、以及俄亥俄州長凱西克(John Kasich)的7.7%。CNN已宣布川普拿下印地安納州。

在此同時，美國民主黨總統參選人桑德斯(Bernie Sanders)，3日則在印州以52.8%領先希拉蕊的47.2%，CNN已宣稱桑德斯在該州勝出。

佛蒙特州參議員桑德斯表示，他預期在未來數週還有更多的勝利會到來，「希拉蕊陣營認為這場選戰已經到頭，他們錯了。」

桑德斯說，他在爭取提名戰中有一段「上坡要爬」，但他正處於這場勝利的戰役中，他將會奮戰到最後。
