Because of the flight delay, it was pretty late when we arrived at Oakland. Full of curiosity and uncertainty, our new life started three hours before sunrise on Christmas Eve. My impression of New York began from the view outside the small airplane window. One and half year later, this memory still stayed fresh but ended with the holiday crowds in JFK. This is not the first Christmas in this foreign country. The twilight this morning woke me up with fresh air of new spirit. I am so blessed. Every time feeling down, there is always someone by my side, offering help when we are in need. I felt so grateful. The place we stay is a super nice community. It’s downtown Oakland where the China town is located. Our aunt Sharon is a super great person. She helped us a lot and even offered this apartment for us to stay before settling down. This may be a small favor to her but we will never forget how much aunt Sharon has done for us. At the end of this year, my heart is full of thankfulness. For friends who are now enjoying their winter break, I sincerely wish you guys a happy holiday and happy new year. For relatives newly met in Cali, my gratitude to you guys is ineffable. I wish I have the same chance to help others some day in return. For my beloved families, please do take care and have a happy new year. Though we may be absent for the Chinese New Year again, our blessing is the same and we really miss you guys. New Year is coming while our new journey just begins here in California.
