Lecture#2 Evolution of Life

On Friday night, I had to work on the essay#1 as it have to be handed in the next day.
So I didn’t online until 12.00am
The essay was trash...
I haven’t expressed any of my original ideas but only wrote about all the facts of the Big Bang.
Maybe I will only get 4 or 5 out of 10...
Whatever, I did write a considerable number of words.
This made me feel a little bit better.

The next morning, I was only just in time to get to the lecture theatre. (Yes!)
This lecture was about evolution.
I thought it would be rather boring in the first place.
But then it turned out to be very interesting to me... cool :-D
We were given an additional copy of notes which contains many figures and graphs.

I am always curious about how could the first RNA ever came into being ages ago.
Coincidentally, a student asked the same question when the lecturer talked about the first prokaryotic cell.
Sadly, she said that nobody really knows how on earth it was created. :-(
And the topic shifted to something kinda philosopical (God...)
The lecture was much more interesting than the previous one.
And I never thought about the reason why the Earth had no O2 4.6 billion years ago.
This lecture gave me an insight into the origin of life and its evolution. (especially the chemical evolution)
Nevertheless, the duration of the lecture was so short and we’ve already overrun,
so the lecture had to be stopped at 11.00.
This is because we had a ”Tree walk” in the UST afterwards.
Well, frankly, that was boring.
I don’t love plants very much so it was a torture for me to look at the trees...
Phew... I’m looking forward to the next lecture! :-)
