RFID Controllers, Readers and Antennas

Many HF installations benefit from the integrated reader-antenna configuration available with the Datalogic Cobalt controller. Here the reader and antenna are bolted together as a unit. This hardens the connections between them and makes a robust, neat and space-saving installation. Solid connectivity between reader and antenna substantially improves reliability in harsh environments by minimizing connections vulnerable cables.

Datalogic HF controllers and antennas are available in a wide variety of configurations with interconnectivity and modularity integrated into the system. The Cobalt controller can accept several antenna types, depending on read range and tag types.

Datalogic integrated controller/antennas are an extremely small and low cost one-piece unit. Typical read/write ranges are from 2 to 9 inches. Where install space is extremely limited, the reader and antenna can be installed separately and cable connected.

The controller communicates via Multi-drop 485, RS232, RS422, USB, DeviceNet, Standard Ethernet, Ethernet IP or Modbus TCP.

Datalogic modular antennas are available in three sizes: 100x100mm, 200x200mm or 300x300mm.

The Datalogic Element is a portable, handheld HF reader that provides access to tag data anytime, anywhere. Bluetooth connectivity allows communication to a host PC or PDA up to 300 feet away. Unlike a barcode reader, the Datalogic Element RFID reader consumes les battery power, so battery life is substantially longer: Element provides 40 hours of operation between charges.

The Datalogic Jet 501-424 is a powerful RFID PDA that reads HF RFID tags and linear barcodes. IT has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and is ruggedized, reliable and drop-resistant to manage data on the move.

Most of our installations have utilized integrated reader and antenna configuration. This enables us to "harden" the reader-antenna connectivity which is essential when the read occurs in a harsh environment.
