淘汰水耕牛是一隻福報具足的水牛。三年前即將被送往屠宰場宰殺，巧遇了老農。老農向村友商借了七萬元，買下老牛！老牛自此早上耕作，下午即於河堤邊吃食水草，自由活動！

未購買老牛前，老農在家庭經濟壓力下蓄養了一區土羊，由於生意慘淡，老農一有機會總是對路過的路人，宣傳自己畜養的土羊，而讓園區人員有機會值遇老牛。土羊雖鮮少宰殺，但數量已繁殖逾百餘隻，此牲畜養殖的殺業，讓皮膚原本黝黑的老農，身上有股難見清爽的氣色！

無常總是來得非常迅速，難以預防！剛剛搶救老牛的老農，一如往昔騎乘著破舊的機車，準備前往耕作時，被來車的機車騎士直接撞擊了，大力衝撞下，老農卻似有層保護膜般彈開，身上僅有一道刮痕，對方騎士卻緊急送醫，急救無效往生！如此大的撞擊讓老農驚恐萬分，直述來車撞來的剎那間，完全沒有思考時間，但確如神助般，安然無事，度過此次劫難！

老農心地善良，由親朋好友處知悉「觀音的家」是老牛安養家園！在認同老牛應予安養的理念下，自願認賠一萬元，將老牛以六萬元的價格讓與園區，園區也於接收牛寶當日，將老牛贖金六萬元親自交予借貸人 - 老農村友，為老牛償還了過往所積欠的債務！

此隻水耕牛是一隻福報俱足的水牛，歷經兩次死裡逃生，終於回到了「觀音的家」的懷抱！老農因為搶救了牠，也帶來了死裡逃生的福報！如今師兄姐發心幫助老牛，必將為自己帶來殊勝無比的福田，起因於搶救牛兒等同搶救人命，刀下搶命功德福田自是不可思議！

園區也感恩所有幫助水牛的師兄姐們，只要您是盡了最大的一份心，幫助水牛所需救生贖金與後續安養費用，都是「救生的功德與福田」！因為水牛沒有安養費用也難以在園區存活，因此護生園區的後續飼料醫療人力照護費，等同救命贖金般，讓園區有直往搶救的勇氣！

【Genuine Reponse of Animal Rescue: Escaped a Disastrous Accident As A Result of Saving a Retiring Buffalo】(Please share to save & protect animals!)

(1) Response of Saving the Buffalo As Stated by an Old Farmer

The retiring buffalo in this real story is full of blessings. He met an old farmer when he was about to be sent to slaughterhouse three years ago. The farmer loaned TWD$70,000 from his neighbor to buy this buffalo. Ever since then, the buffalo worked for the farmer at fields in the morning; later in the afternoon, he ate grass along the riverbank and enjoyed the time on his own.

Before purchasing this buffalo, the farmer reared a batch of goats under financial pressure of his family. With the business not doing well, the farmer needed to always promote his goats to all passerbys. This was how our crew met the buffalo. Despite that not so many of his goats were slaughtered, the number of them was out of control as a hundred and more. Such karma of killing as a result of goat rearing for slaughter made the farmer, whose skin was orginally dark, look quite unhealthy and unpleasant.

Impermanence comes so quickly and unpredictably. The farmer, who had just rescued the buffalo, was bombarded hard by a vehicle while he was driving his old motorcycle to the fields. Surprisingly, being heavily impacted, the farmer seemed to be protected by a shielding-like force that there were only a few scratches on his body. Another driver was sadly sent to hospital urgently and passed away later. Such heavy impact definitely terrified the farmer that he could not stay calm to make any reactions in the blink of an eye. But still he managed to survive through this accident and remain safe and sound as if there was help from above.

Knowing that the Home of Avalokitesvara welcomes retiring cows through his close ones, the farmer is kind enough to sell the buffalo at TWD$60,000 with a discount of TWD$10,000 to our sanctuary as a demonstration of support towards our philosophy of animal care. On the day of receiving the buffalo, we handed in the TWD$60,000 cash to the debt creditor of the farmer, to clear all the debts resulted from buying the buffalo.

(2) Our Sincere Appeal

This buffalo is fully blessed to have escaped death twice, and be back to our sanctuary. His owner also had the blessing to avoid the horrific destiny in the car accident by saving him. Now with your kindness to help this buffalo out, it is sure that you have created especially excellent meritorious virtues; since to rescue a buffalo is being the same as to save a person, the meritorious virtues of saving a life to be killed is always inconceivable.

We are so grateful for all of you who helped saving the buffalo. As long as you are sincere to help him, either for his ransom to avoid getting slaughtered or the care fees for his daily life at our sanctuary, it is still the great meritorious virtues of life saving! It is because only by securing the funds for his care at our sanctuary (food, medical care, staffing etc.) allows us to bring him back without hesitation, which taking care of a huge buffalo can be costly.

The natural lifespan of a buffalo can be up to 20 to 30 years. This four-legged pal will be with us for more than ten years. We sincerely ask for your continuous support to donate his daily care fees, as well as the ransoms for goats, ostriches, chicken, and retiring doves soon to be killed, as we plan to rescue them this weekend.
