1963，Teddy & The Pandas樂團在麻薩諸塞州成立。1966年夏天，隨著知名度逐漸達到高峰，樂團又推出了兩首歌曲，其中之一即是此首《We Can't Go On This Way》， 由Bob Stone創作 ( 此位老兄在1971替Cher創作了《Gypsies，Tramps and Thieves》)，歌曲雖然受到歌友的歡迎，除了在地區，。似並未上榜，而且樂團在1969就解散了。

香港樂團Teddy Robin & The Playboys不知是否看了此曲的原唱者也為Teddy，情感投射之下而來翻唱 ( 其實60年代香港熱門樂團基本都是翻唱歌曲 )，唱的也算頗佳。歌曲的主題:我們不能再這樣下去了，顯然是位嫩妹愛上了較年長的男子，而除非這位嫩妹尚未成年，否則也沒啥好緊張的，無論雙方年齡差距多少，只要倆人都覺得快樂，根本不必在意旁人的意見和眼光。

Teddy & The Pandas另首知名歌曲《Once Upon a Time》，亦由香港樂團The Zoundcrackers翻唱，就一併貼上了。
