此曲首由威爾斯女歌手Bonnie Tyler錄唱發行，收錄在其1988的專輯《Hide Your Heart》中，單曲在挪威獲得第10名，但在英國單曲榜僅得到第95名。1989，美國女歌手Tina Turner翻唱此曲，在英、美分別奪得第5及第15名。

Bonnie Tyler以沙啞的嗓音著稱，台灣歌友較熟習應是她1977的《It's a Heartache》。Tina Turner號稱「Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll」，早年與其夫婿Ike Turner（1962–1978離婚）以雙人組合闖蕩歌壇而出名。這位Ike老兄可不簡單，前後共結過14次婚，且有次在他家舉辦的派對上，將房間上鎖欲勾搭Tom Petty的妻子，此讓Petty非常生氣，而寫了首《Listen to Her Heart》作為控訴回應。
