老歌亂談(1213)Jimmy Come Lately

不久前，忽然聽到此首由香港女歌手江玲翻唱的《Jimmy Come Lately》，覺得甚是有趣，因原曲是Brian Hyland於1962唱紅的《Ginny Come Lately》，由於男女歌者的不同，歌名主詞也就由Ginny換成了Jimmy，而兩者的發音的確非常相近，不知是何人替江玲出的點子，不僅是江玲，我看之後的老外女性翻唱者也都是唱Jimmy。

台長我對香港江玲並不熟悉，但她在1961翻唱Bobby Vee的《More Then I Can Say》，由於夾雜有中文歌詞，在台灣真的是紅到不行。記得當年隨姊姊去買此唱片，中華商場一路都可聽到此曲 ( 幾乎每家唱片行都在試聽播放 )。

台灣早期的熱門樂團不多，一些夜總會多會找菲律賓的熱門樂團來駐唱表演。50年代初，香港熱門樂團掘起，像是Teddy Robin & The Playboys、Danny Diaz & The Checkmate、The Lotus等等等，也帶動了台灣熱門樂團如雨後春筍冒了出來。The Fabulous Echoes ( 回音樂隊 )，雖然歸屬於香港樂團，但團員均為菲裔，1963，以一首翻唱的《A Little Bit of Soap》走紅東南亞。
