老歌亂談(807)Make the World Go Away
當年在玩「留言板」的時候，板上有位女網友是位作家 ( 她寫的小說曾得過「皇冠大眾小說獎」的大獎 )，我曾去聽過她對於「寫作」的演講 ( 其實是想去看本尊 )，記得她說她隨身都會攜帶一本筆記本 ( 還秀出來給大家看 )，任何時候只要有靈感，都會先將之記下來，作為日後寫作可能運用的素材。可惜這位漂亮的兩性女作家，後來還是闖不過情關而結束了自己的生命。【珍惜生命，請播打1995！】
對於寫這首《Make the World Go Away》的歌手兼詞曲作家Hank Cochran來說，也有一套他自己的寫歌方式。1960的某日，Cochran和人相約看電影，由於影片讓他忽然有了靈感，趕緊在15分鐘內回到家 ( 當然是為了怕靈感跑掉 )，而完成了此曲。1963，鄉村歌手Ray Price首先錄唱此曲，在鄉村榜拿下了第2名。同年，女歌手Timi Yuro將此曲詮釋為靈魂曲風，也在流行榜得到第24名。而此曲最為知名的版本，應該是Eddy Arnold在1965所推出的，分別在鄉村及流行榜奪得第1及第6名，也成為了他的招牌歌之一。其他翻唱此曲的知名歌手也一大串，包含有Donny and Marie Osmond、Jim Reeves、Dean Martin、Brenda Lee、Anne Murray及Martina McBride等等，且大多走的是鄉村抒情曲風。
在感情的世界中就是這樣，有時對交往的對象並不滿意而離開 ( 雖然對方很愛他 )，但在轉了一圈之後才體會到先前的好，有些或許還來得及補救，而有些也只能一直被困在自己所造成的痛苦世界中了。
