老歌亂談(785)When My Dreamboat Comes Home
此曲為Dave Franklin(1895─1970)和Cliff Friend(1893─1974) 兩位老兄於1936所寫，之後的演唱及演奏者陸續都有，唯均走爵士曲風。1956，美國黑人搖滾歌手Fats Domino ( 胖子多明諾，1928─2017 ) 將此曲的節奏加快，轉換為搖滾曲風。1960，Brenda Lee亦翻唱此曲，應是參考了Domino的版本。
Brenda Lee的身高雖然只有約145公分，而她在歌唱事業的成就卻高出其他人許多。在60年代，她唱搖滾、流行及鄉村歌曲，共有47首進入美國排行榜，在該時期僅次於貓王Elvis Presley、披頭合唱團及黑人盲人歌手Ray Charles，排名在第4位。1957，Brenda Lee發行了一首《Dynamite》，因而被取了個「Little Miss Dynamite」( 小炸藥小姐？) 的綽號。Brenda Lee擁有一付成熟渾厚的嗓音，披頭的John Lennon就曾稱許她 ---「having the greatest rock and roll voice of them all」。
英文有時不太好懂，dream boat：直覺意為「夢之船」。但兩字連在一起，dreamboat---「a very attractive person, especially a man.」，又為「夢中情人」( 或是「偶像情人」？)之意。不管是船帶來情人，還是情人自己出現，能作一個像這樣的美夢，到第二天醒來，應該還是會很滿足的自己會心一笑吧！
