老歌亂談(762)Hold Me
此首《Hold Me》為從1933即已發行的一首流行曲，之後翻唱的歌手眾多，包含有Eddie Fisher ( 註 )、Brenda Lee、Dean Martin等等，唯均沿襲原曲的抒情曲風。
1964，美國歌手亦為演員的P. J. Proby，不知從何而來的靈感，將此曲改為搖滾風，竟然在英國排行榜勇奪第3名，也是其知名的暢銷曲之一。再之後的翻唱者，則多為採用Proby的版本，如英裔澳洲籍女歌手Lynne Randell、美國樂團The Rubinoos。
有些歌手唱了一輩子，雖然也算有些名氣，但卻無一首冠軍曲，更遑論葛萊美獎了，如P. J. Proby即是。The Rubinoos樂團自1970成軍，至今仍在演唱 ( 1985─1999曾解散 )，聽其歌曲也算具相當的水準，但僅有一首翻唱自Tommy James的《I Think We're Alone Now》進入排行榜 ( 1977，# 45 )，說來真的是讓人感慨萬千。
註：Eddie Fisher的首任妻子為Debbie Reynolds，他也是《星際大戰》莉亞公主( Carrie Fisher ) 的父親。Eddie Fisher之後與Debbie Reynolds的閨蜜Elizabeth Taylor結婚 ( 1959 )，但才不到4年，Elizabeth Taylor又投入了Richard Burton的懷抱。
