老歌亂談(467)Baby I Love You(重編)
美國黑人女子合唱團體The Ronettes是由Ronnie Spector( 原名Veronica Bonnett )和姊姊Estelle Bonnett及表妹Nedra Talley所組成 ( 成立於1957年，早期團名為The Darling Sisters，成員尚有表妹Diane、Elaine及表弟Ira。)。開始只是從事一些地方性的演出，至1961才簽入Colpix唱片公司並發行了4首單曲，可惜成績不佳，均未能進入排行榜。
1963，姊姊Estelle主動打電話給大製作人Phil Spector，除了介紹自己的團體並希望能安排試唱，Phil Spector答應了。試唱的結果，Phil Spector只想簽下Ronnie一人，但Ronnie的母親堅持，要簽就整團一起簽，最後Phil Spector也接受了。
加入了Phil Spector的旗下後，首度發行的歌曲是由寫歌拍檔Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwich和Phil Spector所合寫的《Be My Baby》，果然不同凡響，不僅進入了排行榜，還勇奪亞軍。此曲為The Ronettes的成名曲，也是該團日後的招牌曲。

Phil Spector見《Be My Baby》成功後大喜，更想打鐵趁熱，急著推出也是由三人合作所寫的這首《Baby, I Love You》。但是問題來了，由於The Ronettes在Colpix公司時曾答應要參加一個名為「Caravan of Stars」的全國巡演，在時間上撞期，這該如何是好？Phil Spector腦筋一動，想出了個點子，要Ronnie單獨留下錄音，巡演則由原為團員的表妹Elaine瓜代，並另找了Darlene Love和Cher來當錄音時的合音。此曲推出後成績也還不差，獲得美國排行榜第24名，在英國則是第11名。
1969，加拿大歌手Andy Kim翻唱此曲，獲得排行榜第9名，也為他賺進了一張「金唱片」。另，也是由Phil Spector負責製作的，美國樂團Ramones在1980推出的龐克曲風版，也在英國拿下了單曲排行榜的第8名。
