老歌亂談(230)In the Year 2525
最近站方在徵文【如果回到1913年，你想遇到誰？】還沒來得及思索回到過去，卻忽然地想起這首預言未來的《In the Year 2525》。
我一直有點想不懂，為何這首歌能在1969雄踞排行榜冠軍位置六周之久？說歌曲的旋律嘛，除了中間有升調外，似乎也無特殊之處，歌者的唱功好像也不怎麼樣，那剩下的就是歌詞了。危言聳聽式對未來生活的描述，在於警告科技的無限制發展與對環境的予取予求，只會讓人類喪失自我及帶來不幸。或因而受到大眾的矚目、省思和肯定吧。
這首歌是Rick Evans在1964所寫，1968與Denny Zager以二重唱組合推出，但發行的唱片公司 ( Turth Records ) 只是區域性的小公司，後經電台的播放流傳，很快的被RCA唱片公司簽下全國性的經銷權，歌曲因此一炮而紅。Zager & Evans這個雙人組合於1971解散，而自始至終，他們也就只有這麼一首熱門曲。
