俗話說：『來得早，不如來得巧。』1967年，美國的嬉皮(Hippie)運動正當巔峰期，由於嬉皮們認為「花」是「愛」的最佳象徵，這些參與運動或是認同嬉皮思想的年輕人便被泛稱為「花童」(Flower Children)，而彩繪的花朵也成為了他們的圖騰。

Scott McKenzie(史考特麥肯吉)就在這時推出了這首《San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in your hair)》，歌詞又在提醒人們：「到了舊金山，別忘了在頭上戴朵花」，以示對嬉皮文化的認同，自是受到嬉皮們的大力擁戴，並且這首歌簡直就成了他們的「國歌」。

由於這首歌的主題太明確，影響力太大，使得同張專輯其他歌曲的份量顯得微不足道，成績也差了一大截，甚至到1970再推出另張專輯，亦仍無起色。這種情況就和「亂談117」的那位Little Peggy March一個樣，一炮而紅的成名曲，竟也成為了歌唱生涯唯一的招牌歌，真的是情何以堪。但話說回來，能有一首經典的歌曲傳世，也算是不錯的了。

我還記得當年在台北中華商場的「金聲樂器行」，買過這首歌的和弦譜(不同的歌曲，是以單張賣)，也算是曾為它貢獻過十塊錢吧。
