When I’m building in the block room,
Please don’t say I’m "Just Playing".
For, you see,
I’m learning as I play about balance and shapes.
Who know,I may be an architect someday.
當我在積木角堆積木時
請別說我只是在〝玩〞
你知道嗎？我是在〝玩〞當中學習形狀與平衡的關係
誰知道？也許那天我將成為建築師

When I’m getting all dressed up,setting the table, caring for the babies,
don’t get the idea I’m "Just Playing".
For, you see, I’m learning as I play.
I may be a mother or father someday.
當我在裝扮自己、扮家家、擺飾桌子、照顧小嬰兒時
請別說我只是在〝玩〞
你知道嗎？我是在〝玩〞當中學習
因為有一天我將成為父親或母親

When you see me upto my elbows in paint,
Or standing at an easel,
or molding and shaping clay,
Please don’t let me hear you say,"He is Just Playing."
For, you see, I’m learning as I play.
I just might be a teacher someday.
當你看到我在塗抹顏料
或柔捏黏土時
請別讓我聽到：他就只是〝玩〞
你知道嗎？我是在〝玩〞當中學習
也許那天我將成為一位老師

When you see me engrossed in a puzzle
or some "playing" at my school,
Please don’t feel the time is wasted in "play."
For you see,I’m learning as I play.
I’m learning to solve problems and concentrate.
I may be in business someday.
當你看到在學校的我正全神貫注的拼圖
或玩一些玩具時
請不要認為我把時間浪費在玩的方面
你知道嗎？我正在〝玩〞當中學習
我學習如何去解決問題和培養專心的態度
也許有一天我將成為事業家

When you see me cooking or tasting foods,
Please don’t think that because I enjoy it, it is "Just Play"
I’m learning to follow directions and see differences.
I may be a cook someday.
當你看到我在煮東西或嘗試食物時
請別認為我就只會〝玩〞
我正在學習如何操作管理與分辨不同
也許那天我將成為一位大廚師

When you see me learning to skip, hop, run and move my body,
Please don’t say I’m "just Playing".
For, you see, I’m learning as I play.
I’m learning how my body works.
I may be a doctor, nurse, or athlete someday.
當你看到我正在跳、跑或移動身體時
請別說我只是在〝玩〞
你知道嗎？我是在〝玩〞當中學習
學習身體的運動與功能
也許那天我會是一位醫師、護士或運動家

When you ask me what I’ve done at school today,
And I say, "I Just Played,"
Please don’t misunderstand me.
For, you see, I’m learning as I play.
I’m learning to enjoy and be successful in my work.
I’m preparing for tomorrow.
Today, I am a child and my work is play.
你問我今天在學校做些什麼
當我的回答是：我只是在〝玩〞時
請別誤解我
因為我是在〝玩〞當中學習
學習如何讓自己成功、快樂
我將為明日做最好的準備
今日我是一個小孩子 我的工作就是〝玩〞

學些什麼呢?
學習"帶得走的能力"
學習"適應未來的能力"
學習讓自己擁有快樂

當孩子在娃娃家裡哄著布娃娃時
請您不要阻止他"玩"或強迫他去學習您認為真正叫做"知識"的東西
因為他正在玩中學習著~在未來當一位照顧孩子的好爸爸、好媽媽
因為他正在玩中學習著~像您一樣細心的照顧孩子、照顧弱小

因為他還是個孩子,他會希望自己的未來是在快樂中做準備
因為您也曾經像他一樣是個孩子,他會希望您會理解,為何他總用自己特有的方式學習
最重要的是~~~因為他還是個孩子,他的工作就是〝玩〞
