搖籃曲
小的時候我很喜歡一首叫做 Lullaby 的歌。
Lullaby，顧名思義就是搖籃曲，但這首不是我們耳熟能詳的一般搖籃曲，而是一首廣播放到爛掉的歌。為什麼在流行樂電台會放鄉村歌手 Shawn Mullins (夏恩．莫林斯)的歌呢？因為他在一九九八年登上 Billboard的top 40。不但是DJ愛放，聽眾愛點，就連我這個在德州長大卻討厭鄉村音樂的傢伙盲目的買下那張收錄 Lullaby的專輯。
雖然整張專輯我只聽的進去兩首歌，但光是 Lullaby那首我就聽了至少一千次。整首歌的開頭都是莫林斯先生的碎碎唸，一直到他說：
Everything’s gonna be all right
Rockabye, rockabye
Everything’s gonna be all right
Rockabye, rockabye
Rockabye
然後他在繼續碎碎唸個三十秒，又唱一樣的附歌。這麼如此簡單的歌，為什麼有那麼多人喜歡？
因為它就跟首搖籃曲一樣，催眠著我們，「所有的事情都會是all right的」。Everything’s gonna be all right。好像當他重覆那句話十次二十次，好像就會成真一樣，所有的事情都不用多擔心，因為有人會幫你解決，他已經下了保證，Everything’s gonna be all right。
很希望有個人可以跟我那樣說。
是的，二十歲的我還是相信這種童話，還是會被這種甜言蜜語騙的團團轉。希望有個人敢跟我那樣說，因為那是個很大的保證，一個太大的承諾。一個說的人知道不可能，聽的人也知道不可能，但是當你說的時候跟聽的時候，會感到平安跟安心的一句話。Everything’s gonna be all right。
我當然知道那是不可能的。只是有那麼一點，那麼一點點的聲音跟我說，對呀，不管怎樣，Everything’s gonna be all right。每件事都會有出路的。就好像那個小聲音也跟我說，也許有一天，會有個人跟我說那句話，Everything’s gonna be all right。
有那個心意我就很高興了，誰管它可不可能成真呀。
