There will be no denying that <> is the most influential economic and managerial magazine in Taiwan. It’s one of the heads of the press. <> always brings us the latest industrial news, the newest management concepts, and the most immediate international features. I have read it for more than six years, and I feel that it gives me something different during different career periods.

There are several topics in the publication: Cover story, International column, People spot, Management, and The Economist selected. Cover story, of course, is the most attractive feature in a current issue. It reports a series of news about an event, a company, or a social problem. In addition, Professor Lester C. Thurow, who teaches in Sloan Business School, MIT, usually hosts International column. He comments on special economic news and world economy. Reading his column makes me understand economics more. People spot describes outstanding managers’ working experience and introduce their working philosophy. Management, a new series since <> turned to be a half-monthly publication, introduces the latest forums about business administration and the newest viewpoints of management. The Economist selected, as its name disclosing, comes from the world famous weekly, <>. The editors translate some important articles into Chinese in this series. This unit increases the global vision of <>.

When I was in the college, this magazine gave me a highlight of business, and helped me determine to prepare for graduate school exams. Through reading it, I’ve understood more about what interested me and what I wanted to do. During studying in business school, it enlarged my managerial knowledge and fruited my marketing sense. This magazine was one of the main bibliographies of my papers. Now, it keeps teaching me a lot of skills of working. I think it’s a practical tool for people who want to understand industries and to strengthen their competitive strengths.
