"Thumb Culture"

Han will fly to Thailand tomorrow and play for 7 days. That’s great! I envy at her vocation.

Last night I listened to the studio classroom. The topic was “Thumb Culture”. It said that nowadays many young people typed text messages to communicate with their friends. They used their thumbs adeptly and felt this way was very convenient to contact with others. They also thought that hand-written greeting cards were old-fashioned. (But I didn’t think so.)

The new culture also resulted in a new health problem, called “text-messaging injury”. Because of using the thumbs pushing tiny buttons on the cell phone, and the movements of thumbs were small, they didn’t cause the blood circulate. So the thumbs became swelling and hurt.

To reduce the harm, the cell phone users invented special abbreviations of their own. And it made typing easier. That helped a lot.

HAND! (Have A Nice Day!)

That’s all, thank you.
