Italian Day 2013 Update: Sunday, June 9
 
Everything Italian is embraced during Italian Day on

 The Drive including food, music, fashion, dance, art, sport,

 history and community.
 
And for Italian Day 2013 – the Italian Day Festival Society is excited

to offer ‘a first’ in the form of a street festival to the city of Vancouver

: the world famous ‘Carnevale di Venezia’ when the event’s

 ‘dolce vita’ signature extends itself to Venice.

In the heart of Vancouver’s ‘Little Italy’,

The Drive will come alive ‘Venetian style’ with masks,

costumes, street entertainers, music, food, fashion,

contests and more!
 

 

From a business perspective, Italian Day 2013 will engage merchants,

vendors and partners, providing an opportunity to present,

demonstrate and sell products/services to the attendees.

 It offers an exclusive vehicle of exposure with an immensely

 captivated audience.
 

The overwhelming reception to Italian Day and its continued success

 is largely attributed to the support and contributions of our family of supporters:

our sponsors, the City of Vancouver, event partners, media, participants

, and the dedication of our volunteers and interns.

 Our goal is nurture these alliances while also attracting

 more support through our community and our partners,

 reinforcing this valuable event for the city of Vancouver

 and the tribute it pays to our Italian heritage and the

historical significance of ‘The Drive’.

Italian Heritage Month
 
Together with other Italian communities all around Canada,

 IL CENTRO Italian Cultural Centre is celebrating

June as Italian Heritage Month.

In collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy,

 the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, ComItEs, CGIE, SFU and Vancity,

 IL CENTRO is proud to present multiple events throughout June,

 which will appeal to audiences of all ages –

from events for children to literary lectures,

 from movie nights to banquets,

 from singing talent shows to theatre in Italian or English.
