Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe ~

The inside looks pretty upscale, with large displays of diabetes-causing goodness.

Dessert-lovers rejoice~Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe

When you first walk in, it's the ambiance that draws you in.

Then, as you scan the cafe over to your right, you realize all the options:

the pastries, cakes, croissants, macarons, and sandwiches.

The display, of how they arrange everything is boutique like,

where you feel you are in a Holt Renfrew of dessert houses,

where the only thing that is missing is a doorman who is pulling the door open,

and a person at the gates taking a coat check.

Everything is very pretty to look at, and you expect the same once you put it in your mouth.

macarons~

7 macarons for $13.45 in assorted flavours.

It's so hard to decide which ones to choose,

since they all look mouth-wateringly delicious.

My favourite of the bunch was probably the lime,

but I'm fairly certain it's not a flavour that everyone would like.

The place is cozy and perfect for a post-dinner get-together with

your friends or a nice place to end a date.

Would love to stop by in the summer time  and enjoy that patio!

my order ~

This is a dessert finders delight, and if you are craving liquor, do not worry,

they have this too, with all their 'special' coffees, and other alcohol infused drinks,

tack on a few more minutes of sitting around, enjoying that sweet,

and letting the alcohol soak into your blood stream.

I highly recommend this place, but only gave it a 4-star rating due to pricing.

I do understand that macarons are delicate and require pampering,

attention to detail before they're brought out on display,...

but the sandwiches??

It was around $8 for a teeny, tiny sandwich.

Anyhow, if you are in the neighborhood, definitely stop by and pick up some macarons.

A set of 7 to eat yourself, and share with some friends,

is a perfect way to end a side-trip to the downtown area.

One thing worthy of mentioning here is that they use (real) dark chocolate,

meaning the beverage is much less sweet and much more bitter,

just the way I like it.  Most other places do the opposite of this.

Probably one of the best coffees I've ever had in a long time.

I would definitely recommend the place to anyone,

especially if your looking to impress a certain somebody on a first, or any date night.
