Bic Runga is a well-known singer/songwriter and multi-platinum artist from New Zealand. She was born to a Chinese Malaysian mother and a Māori father. Her first name "Bic" comes from the Chinese word "碧", which means jade or green color.

"Sway" is a song from Runga's debut studio album Drive. The romantic song was featured in the teen sex comedy film American Pie in 1999. It appears near the end of the movie when everyone is trying to get laid. The song is used once again in the 2012 film American Reunion, the fourth installment of the original American Pie series.
