Flashback Friday: What I Go To School For
English pop punk band Busted seized the world's attention with their debut single "What I Go To School For" from their self-title album released in 2002. The song and its music video are both downright self-explanatory as the band talks about how they lose interest in their female classmates, but somehow lust for their hot teacher.
In reality, the song is based on what happened to band member Matt Willis when he attended a theatre school. After the song became a huge success (peaking at No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart and getting infinite MTV airplays), dance teacher Michelle Blair found out she was the one who inspired the song. The two finally met on a TV show and recalled the old days in the theatre school.
