?上個月十八日，學生發起反對服貿協議的學潮，占領立法院，並強行衝進行政院，破壞公物，我個人覺得這已不像學生運動，因為，學運是很神聖的，這些年輕學生，他們天真、熱情、愛護社會，但是愛國也要講究法治、講究理性。
當初，民國八年有「五四運動」，許多學生基於愛國的情操，反對外國以不平等的「二十一條」條款欺凌我們，幾乎要滅我中華，學生們挺身而出，因而在歷史上留下清名。但這一次「反服貿協議」應還不致構成學運，因為協議的內容還可以再研究。
再說，就是要發起運動，也應該以當事人為首，有關服貿協議利害關係的人士，他們應該先出場，學生可以出面支援。但現在，主要關係者都不知道在哪裡？我們的學生空有一腔熱情，尤其他們在國家會堂受餓、受凍，甚至已有人生病，花那麼大的精神力氣，實在是划不來。
我們台灣幾十年來在各界的努力下，成為一個美麗的寶島，擁有敦厚善良的人情、社會民主自由，被評選為「居住環境最好的地方」就是台灣。但因為兩岸的問題至今還沒有解決，因此，就造成各說各話，惹出是非。所謂「是非應止於智者」，事件發生的第五天，在台中，佛教就有意見出來；我個人表示，學運應該點到為止，學生可以回校讀書；王金平院長應該出來領導立委開會，使國會正常運作；馬英九總統應該就學生要求出來安排一個對話，當然，對話的程序、機制必須經過研究。對於「服貿協議」的內容，至今有人說公平，有人感到不如人意，究竟服貿協議公平與否，我們可愛的學生們清楚其中利害關係了嗎？懂得國家要登高望遠嗎？
宗教界也不是不關心社會運動，但假如一開始就跟著趕熱鬧發言，就會有人譏評宗教人士不安於教堂寺廟修行，卻來干涉政治。特別在台灣，社會上瀰漫一種錯誤的觀念，覺得政治只容一般人民參與，宗教人士不能與政治沾上邊，以致宗教人士對自己的立場多有保守。
李家同教授表示，對宗教界一句話都不講感到失望，其實，這段期間已有各家媒體報導，宗教不應忙著插上一腳。而事實上，人間福報、人間衛視，開始就特別製作有關專題，邀請各方人士發表意見。李教授本人是一名教友，在天主教裡也甚有地位，假如以您的地位來聯絡天主教、基督教、佛教等共同來參與，或許會有力量的，至少是有誠意的。
不過，機會還在，希望我們宗教界本之誠懇，愛護台灣這塊寶地，呼籲三方面各自節制，不要說謊，不要栽贓，不要亂槍打鳥，不要製造矛盾，把話說清楚。我的簡單意見是：總統可以和學生對話，立委們應該回到立法院開會，學生回到校園讀書，充實自我，讓社會回復平靜。我們也希望各媒體本諸良知，媒體救台灣，要公義公平，這才是國家之福。
