The New Year Eve

Tonight, it’s December 31, the last day of the year 2008. Everyone was expecting this day to be one of the year’ most important days. People like to attend a countdown ceremony or cerebration, because after this day, we are going to greet a new year to have a new beginning.

As for me, since I have a part-time job keeping me working on December 31, I must work until 11:00 P.M. After I finished my job, unluckily, my cell-phone ran out of battery and didn’t work, so I couldn’t call my friend to run me on his or her motorcycle to celebrate together.

Thus, I took a bus to school, and used a public phone to call him for the place to meet each other. We finally met at 11:40 P.M. And decided that  we went to see the firework show produced by the Taipei 101 building..

First, we tried to go up to the top floor balcony of one of the NTUST’s building, but all the best viewing positions had already been occupied by lots of the early birds who were crowded and packed there. Then, we disappointedly rode our scooter to find a new place and luckily found a nice one on his roadside , where we got off waiting for the firework show to start.

We were in time to count down loudly with the passers-by around us, “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, …….3, 3, and 1!” At that time, the moment the New Year was coming, a fantastically and specially brilliant tree of firework blooming and exploding right in front of us. It was so very glistening that we were all excited and fascinated with such a magnificent sight before our eyes. This was indeed a very unforgettable night for us.
