turtle 原指「海」，但英文俚語中是毒品大麻（marijuana）的俗稱。大麻也可稱為dope、grass、weed、ganja、tea、joint、pot、spliff（英式用法）、cannabis（英式用法）、hashish（大麻中效力最強者）等。此外，嗜抽大麻的人可稱為a pothead。
