Two Lessons

This afternoon, I talked to a friend. Talking to him reminds me of the few lessons that he has taught me ever since I have known him. Among everything that he has tried to tell me, I believe that one of the most important messages that he wants me to receive is to learn to say NO.

As I think about it, I find it very ludicrous, how I sometimes do not say "No" when I should but I occasionally say "No" too earnestly when I am not supposed to. Knowing when to say "No" is something I should learn, and knowing how to say it eloquently requires some skills. It is something that I still haven't learned how to do well. Maybe I never will. But at least I will try.

By the way, I believe that almost everyone has a few friends who act as trustworthy and dependable "gor gor"s or "jeh jeh"s in their lives. These may not be the friends whom we often talk to, and we may not celebrate their birthdays with them every year. However, when they give us a hand during the time when we are in trouble, we will depend on them with so much faith and trust because we KNOW that they are reliable.

I have won some prizes in a few raffles, but I do not say that I am lucky because of that. Rather, I feel that I am fortunate beacuse I have all these "gor gor"s and "jeh jeh"s around me.

Also, another lesson that this "gor gor" has told me is that there are solutions to most problems, and the only thing I need to do is to let the others know about it. And now I know what he meant; he and the other "gor gor"s and "jeh jeh"s have been my bridges to the many solutions that I have found so far.
