『十年前，一個月黑風高的晚上，在鎮上的街道轉角處發生一件凶殺案，當時在遠方有幾個目擊者，但是因為天色昏暗視線不清，所以縱然看到兇手也無法真正確認身份，不過他們有個共同的說法，就是兇手的模樣跟我完全一樣。
在法庭上，法官問︰「年輕人，雖然有許多目擊者，不過仍然無法辨認是否是你做的，你能不能告訴我當時你在何方，有不在場的證明，你就可以洗刷嫌疑了。」
我選擇了沉默，一句話也沒回答，雖然我知道這樣做等於拿生命開玩笑，但我依然只是望著地面一語不發，法官和眾人的等待都是沒有意義的，因為我說不出，我正在朋友老婆的懷抱裏。
絞刑架是如此的高昂，行刑的時刻一分一秒地靠近，我望見她站在安靜擁擠的人群中，擬重的臉色，沒有眼淚也沒有哭泣。
她晚上有時候會過來，戴著黑色的長面紗，晚風無情的低吟著，她就站在我的墳前，沒人知道也沒人看見，只有我看著她輕柔的哭泣。』
