文化差異提要 (商用英語口語練習 102上)

Culture Note:

A) Cultural differences related to greetings:

In many Western cultures, a handshake is an important part of making a good first impression, especially in a business setting. A handshake should be firm but not too strong, and it should be very brief.

Eye contact is important when shaking hands.

B) Here are some general tips for business card etiquette:

     * Business cards are an important part of making business contacts.

It's important to have plenty of cards on hand when doing business.

     * Business cards are usually exchanged at the beginning or at the end

        of an initial meeting.

     * It is considered polite to take a moment to study a person's business

card, to comment on it, and clarify information before putting it

        away.

      * Never fold or write on a person's business card after they have

         given it to you.
