Tasting- Two Old Glenfarclas
相當有趣的一次H2H,第一支在1974蒸餾,第二支卻在1974裝瓶,也是目前喝過最老的Glenfarclas OB, 剛好有機會可以比較分屬前後時期的差異.
Glenfarclas 1974/2004 Premium Edition Sherry Cask Strength 54.5% OB B#718/748
C: deep amber, brown gold
23 N: elegant sherry,仙楂梅,八仙果,raisin, followed by some orange, grapefruit, deep and rich, then some toffee, prune,蜜棗,cream, fully matured sherry cask
23 T: full, a little spicy, good impact, oil, peach,蜜棗, raisin, orange, grapefruit, very fruity, round and rich, beautiful, fresh and active sherry cask full of mouth
23 B: very good balanced! Elegant and complexes, good extension at the end.
Glenfarclas 21yo 51.5%
C: amber, gold
25 N: stunning young and active sherry, full of energy, explosive aromas, peach, melon peer, honey apple, grapefruit, everything from begin. Followed by some beautiful fresh prune,一點檀香,柚木的香氣, elegant wood cask, my god..
24 T: medium -> full, full of energy, young and beautiful sherry, grapefruit,柚木, melon, honey apple, very fruity, complexes with very good layers, good impact, quite smooth. It seems like “flying sherry” in the mouth.
24 B: very good balanced, also my favorite type of sherry, my No.1 so far!!!
許多老雪莉桶都有烏梅或是蜜餞的味道
但新近裝瓶的雪莉桶
屬於這類的味道卻不容易見著
難道是桶子選用的木材改變之故
還是 .... ?

這或許就是逃不開Whisky的最大原因吧!

可能也不容易再喝到如此完美口感的whisky 了....
