banana bread

拿著叉子和奶油與糖奮鬥的時候,我想起了妳。以前每次做 banana bread 的時候妳都那麼興奮。想著妳蹲在烤箱前面期待的眼神,聽妳聞著香味卻要等它涼的抱怨,就忍不住想和妳聯絡。但在我的MSN上,妳灰色的名字後面寫著:blocked。

妳寫信來問我是不是擋了妳,我輕輕的按下了刪除。妳說如果我自己都不在意自己,那妳也不想為我擔心了。妳不知道的是,我不需要妳的擔心,只需要妳的愛。所以,我決定放開妳,一如當初妳決定放開我。

我早就該這麼做了。一年前,電話響起「here without you」的鈴聲時,我還是忍不住想聽聽妳的聲音。現在,妳要忙著考證照,忙著維持妳和他之間的感情,我早就說過,妳不需要我的。這次我會完全退出,為妳好,更為我自己好。每次和妳聊天,聊到他到了妳家樓下,妳匆匆掛上電話時,在我心裡都好像又和妳分手了一次。原諒我,我只知道用一種方式面對妳。這樣對我實在太傷了。

妳是我一生中最要好的朋友。我需要妳,一如妳需要我。不論我們和其它人再親密,都不能取代我們之間的感情。就是因為這樣妳才會主動和我分手,卻仍不斷和我聯絡的,不是嗎?我仍然需要和妳對話。所以,我有這個地方。我能夠假想妳看到了,把需要和妳說的話宣洩在這裡。也許寫完了還是會鬱悶,還是會有想聽到妳聲音的衝動,但是,總是了勝於無。希望妳也能找到宣洩的方法。

我想要的是一股為自己而活的動力。為自己煮 samosas,為自己烤 pop-pie。自己蹲在烤箱前看著蛋糕慢慢長大,為的只是自己快樂。

BANANA BREAD

Introduction:

Banana bread is a delicious dessert, and definitely my favorite. It is easy to make and can spare your overripe bananas. Its crispy crust and creamy texture melt in your mouth and will have you jumping with joy. It is an ultimate comfort food and good for holiday celebrations. Now, get out those bananas and get baking.

Required Materials:

Conventional oven
Spatula
9x5x3 inch loaf pan
Large mixing bowl
2 small bowls
Large plate
Measuring spoons
Measuring cup
Fork
Mixer (optional)
Toothpick

1 cup of granulated sugar
8 tablespoons or 1 stick of unsalted, sweet butter
2 large eggs
3 extremely ripe bananas
1 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
Honey or yogurt

Procedures:

1. Prepare the bananas a week before baking. Place the bananas in a plastic bag and set the bag in a cool corner to ripen the bananas. The bananas are ready when their surfaces are light brown.

2. Preheat the oven to 325牵F.

3. Cream the sugar and butter in the large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Use the fork in a whipping motion to get this result. Use a mixer instead of the fork for efficiency and better results.

4. Add eggs in one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5. Mash the bananas with a fork in a small bowl, then mix in the milk and cinnamon.

6. In another small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

7. Add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Then, add the dry ingredients and mix just until the flour disappears. The mixture should look a little clumpy, do not over stir.

8. Butter the loaf pan lightly. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for one hour to one hour and 10 minutes. Use a toothpick to determine when the bread is done. Insert the toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. Set aside to cool on a rack for 15 minutes.

9. Remove bread from the pan onto a plate. If it is difficult to remove the bread, use a knife to loosen the sides. Invert the bread and cool let it cool completely, about 5 minutes.

10. Slice the banana bread into thin slices. Garnish the bread with honey or yogurt, if desired.
