伊莉莎白瓦茲Elizabeth Wat/女高音

Elizabeth Watts was a Norwich Cathedral chorister, then graduated with a first in archaeology at Sheffield University before winning a scholarship to the Royal College of Music Britten International Opera School in 2002, studying with Lillian Watson and winning numerous prizes, most recently the 2006 Kathleen Ferrier Prize and the MIDEM 2007 Outstanding Young Artist Award.

 

Elizabeth joined ENO Young Singers' Programme in 2005 where her roles have included Barbarina Le nozze de Figaro, Papagena Die Zauberflöte, Music and Hope Orfeo and roles in King Arthur.

Other roles include Flora The Knot Garden for Music Theatre Wales/ROH, title role Semele for British Youth Opera, and Arthébuze Actéon at the Aldeburgh Festival, Flora Turn of the Screw, Poppea Agrippina, Elmira Sosarme, Fulvia Ezio and Constance Carmelites at RCM.

 

Future roles include Susanna Le nozze di Figaro with Santa Fe Opera in 2008.

 

Elizabeth has appeared at the Purcell Room, Zürich Tonhalle, Bridgewater Hall, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Cheltenham Festival, among many others. She has also sung with the ECO, RLPO, and CBSO. Future plans include concerts with the RPO and les solistes européen, Luxembourg.

OS2:德國藝術歌曲,狹義來說是從舒伯特以降的古典作曲家,根據名家詩歌所寫的短曲,如果往前追朔還可以包括海頓與莫札特,不過舒伯特、海頓、莫札特似乎都是奧地利人。因此,德國藝術歌曲的德國指的是廣義的德奧區,而真正開花結果是舒伯特之後,舒曼、布拉姆斯、沃爾夫、理查史特勞斯等人的耕耘。

 

讓德國藝術歌曲能跟歌劇、神劇、清唱劇一樣,在古典音樂史上佔有一席之地。

Born in London, Kate Royal studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. Her many awards include the 2004 Kathleen Ferrier Award, the 2004 John Christie Award and the 2007 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award.


In concert she has appeared with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Sir Simon Rattle (BBC Proms and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden), the Bach Akademie Stuttgart under Helmuth Rilling, at the Edinburgh Festival with Sir Charles Mackerras, the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington) under Helmuth Rilling, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Vassily Petrenko and the Berlin Philharmonic and William Christie. She has appeared in recital throughout Europe and North America.


She has recorded Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with the Manchester Camerata and Schumann's Liederkreis (for Hyperion) with Graham Johnson.


In October 2006 Kate Royal signed an exclusive contract with EMI Classics and her first solo recording with Edward Gardner and the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields was issued in the summer of 2007.
In opera she has sung Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) for the Glyndebourne Festival and the Royal Opera, Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Governess (The Turn of the Screw) for Glyndebourne on Tour, Helena (A Midsummer Night's Dream) for both the Teatro Real, Madrid and the Glyndebourne Festival, Poppea for the English National Opera, Miranda (Ades' The Tempest) for the Royal Opera, Handel's "L'Allegro" for the Paris Opera, Micaela (Carmen) for the Glyndebourne Festival and Countess Almaviva for the Aix-en-Provence Festival.


Forthcoming concert engagements include the Berlin Philharmonic and Rattle, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Temirkanov and the Orchestra of La Scala Milan and Chung. Her future operatic engagements include Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) for the Glyndebourne Festival, Pamina and Micaela with the Bavarian State Opera and Pamina and Anne Trulove for the Royal Opera.

(關於次女高音Angelika Kirchschlager by Wiki) Kirchschlager's musical training began at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she studied percussion and piano. In 1984, she went to the Vienna Music Academy, where she took voice lessions with Walter Berry. Her first engagements were at the Wiener Kammeroper and the Graz Opera House.

Kirchschlager won third prize in the prestigious International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in 1991 and became a member of the Vienna State Opera in 1993. She made her debut there with the roll of Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. In 2002, she sang the title role in the world première of British composer Nicholas Maw's opera Sophie's Choice at the Royal Opera House in London. She debuted a new production of Tales of Hoffmann in 2003.

 

Kirchschlager has worked with many distinguished conductors, such as Claudio Abbado, Bertrand de Billy, Sir Colin Davis, John Eliot Gardiner, Christopher Hogwood, James Levine, Kurt Masur, Kent Nagano, Seiji Ozawa, Kurt Sanderling, and Sir Simon Rattle, and sung in many of the great houses of the world. She gives recitals throughout the world and is regular guest of the annual Liederfestival Schubertiade Schwarzenberg in Vorarlberg/Austria, mostly accompanied by Austrian pianist Helmut Deutsch. Kirchschlager is married to Hans Peter Kammerer, a baritone. They have a son, Felix, and the family make their home in Vienna. [1]

OS6(Ian Bostridge ‘s Career by Wiki) Bostridge made his Wigmore Hall debut in 1993; his Purcell Room debut (an acclaimed Winterreise) and his Aldeburgh Festival debut in 1994; in 1995 he gave his first solo recital in the Wigmore Hall (winning the Royal Philharmonic Society's Debut Award); in 1996 he gave recitals in Lyon, Cologne, London and at the Aldeburgh, Cheltenham and Edinburgh Festivals, and in 1997 at the Alte Oper, Frankfurt.

 

On the concert platform he has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Colin Davis and Mstislav Rostropovich, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Sir Charles Mackerras, and the City of Birmingham Symphony under Sir Simon Rattle.

 

His first recording for Hyperion Records was a Britten song recital, The Red Cockatoo with Graham Johnson, and his subsequent recording of Die schöne Müllerin in Hyperion's Schubert Edition won the Gramophone's Solo Vocal Award for 1996; he won the prize again in 1998 for a recording of Schumann Lieder with his regular collaborator, the pianist Julius Drake. He is a ten-time Grammy nominee and his CDs have won most of the major record prizes including Grammy, Edison, Japanese Recording Academy, Brit, Echo Klassik and Deutsche Schallplattenpreis.

Bostridge made his operatic debut in 1994, aged 29, as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Australian Opera at the Edinburgh Festival. In 1996 made his acclaimed debut with the English National Opera, singing his first Tamino (The Magic Flute). In 1997 he sang Quint in Deborah Warner's new production of The Turn of the Screw under Sir Colin Davis for the Royal Opera. He has recorded Flute (Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream) with Sir Colin Davis for Philips Classics; Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) with William Christie for Erato, and Tom Rakewell (The Rake's Progress) under John Eliot Gardiner for Deutsche Grammophon. In 2007 he appeared at the ENO in the role of Aschenbach in Britten's {Death in Venice}.

 

In 1997 he made a film of Schubert's Winterreise for Channel 4 directed by David Alden; he has been the subject of a South Bank Show profile documentary on ITV and presented a BBC4 film on Leoš Janáček. He has written on music for The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement, Opernwelt, BBC Music Magazine, Opera Now and the The Independent.

 

Later engagements included recitals in Paris, Stockholm, Lisbon, Brussels, Amsterdam and the Vienna Konzerthaus. In North America he appeared in recitals in New York City at the Frick Collection in 1998 and Alice Tully Hall in 1999 and made his Carnegie Hall debut under Sir Neville Marriner. Also in 1998 he sang Vasek in a new production of The Bartered Bride under Bernard Haitink for the Royal Opera and made his debut at the Munich Festival as Nerone (L'incoronazione di Poppea) and in recital (Winterreise at the Cuvillés Theatre). In 1999 he made his debut with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under Sir Roger Norrington.

 

In 2004, Ian Bostridge was made CBE for his services to music. His brother is the Whitbread-shortlisted biographer and critic Mark Bostridge, whose book "Florence Nightingale: the woman and her legend" was published in the UK in 2008. They are great-grandchildren of John "Tiny" Joyce, a cousin of James Joyce and famous goalkeeper who played for Tottenham Hotspur before the First World War.[1].

Ian Bostridge is now the music columnist for Standpoint magazine, the new monthly publication launched "to celebrate Western civilisation". He also serves on the magazine's advisory board.

Ian Bostridge is married to the writer and literary critic, Dr Lucasta Miller, author of the classic study published in 2001, "The Brontë Myth". They have a son and a daughter.
