活出生命的色彩 -- 從古典音樂到莫內到吾友蕭麗綾和吳一成

我至今連五線譜都不太懂,唯自年輕時代起就對古典音樂情有獨衷。剛步入社會工作,尚未結婚的前幾年,每月的薪俸至少有十分之一花在購買包括貝多芬,莫扎特,柴可夫斯基,布拉姆斯,蕭邦,李斯特,孟德爾頌等音樂大師的傳世作品唱片。
有好長一段時間,我書房裡或書架上,除書籍之外,滿是這類唱片。工作餘暇,書本和音樂是我最愛的休閒伴侶。那時候唱片和書本一樣都相當有 “份量”,每次搬家,搬家公司的工人一到,都會要求增加原先談妥的工資,因為這兩樣東西的數量和重量都遠超過他們的想像。
婚後孩子陸續出世,加上轉換工作的關係,搬家次數頻繁,書籍和唱片的數量被迫逐漸減少,惟至今,只要時間許可,我仍會找機會獨自靜靜的欣賞大師們對生命的禮讚,吶喊或抗議。
近年來,由於某種因緣際會,我開始較深入的接觸繪畫藝術。相對於音樂家以音符表達他們對生命的謳歌,吶喊或抗議,畫家則以色彩和光影來詮釋他們對生命的觀照,或展現他們的思想底蘊,形式雖異,但藝術家們對生命的熱愛則無二致。
吾友畫家
蕭老師作畫, 用色大膽渾厚, 揮筆如天馬行空, 毫無罣礙; 作品時而表現出強烈的感情; 時而透露出深沉的思想底蘊。據她自己說,她的畫深受西方存在主義思想及東方禪學的影響,這可從她兩年前首次出版的畫冊中多幅作品的命名看出端倪,闢如 “一朝風月”, “元智”, “當下”,"存在的真相", 及一系列以 “流浪者之歌” 為名的作品。

我最近床頭矮櫃上擺著幾冊似乎是從摯友吳一成處借來的莫內,高更,雷諾瓦和梵谷的畫冊,因而養成了每天入睡前,總要翻閱幾頁才能安然入眠的習慣。原來好畫和好音樂一樣,都具有鎮定心神的作用。
說到吾友吳一成,他不只是個出色的建築設計師,辦公室裡收集的各式各樣的 CD 和 DVD 琳瑯滿目,其中許多是絕版的東西。有一陣子他迷上音響,常常很 “阿薩力” 的花費巨資購置超優質的音箱和喇叭。我這些年來若想要享受一下正典的音樂和音響,他的辦公室是唯一的去處。
另外,我發覺他血液裡流的其實還有畫家的基因,因為從他畫的素描,可清楚見到他的繪畫天份,可惜到目前為止,他只願意畫黑白的圖畫。我多麼期盼他好好利用現在 “多得用不完的時間”,把黑白的素描轉換成繽紛的彩繪,再度活出生命的色彩,老友以為然乎?

A Mind Not Abiding
Ms. Li-ling Hsiao has exhibited her work of the oil paintings at the Path of Beauty in Yuan Ze University. She named the exhibition as “Back To The Original State of Mind”, which was both enlightening and a pleasant surprise to me.
Ms. Hsiao has been an honorary alumnus of the Yuan Ze University for years. She has also served as one the board members of the Taiwan Associate of Executive Elite, which is composed mostly of the alumni of the Yuan Ze EMBA graduates.
Although not an alumnus of the graduates of the Yuan Ze EMBA program, Ms. Hsiao has often participated in the activities held by the Associate, and is a core member thereof.
It was where I first met her and got to know the devoting love and the talent that she has in art; also, it was why I had invited her to help promoting art activities in the Yuan Ze campus. The Path of Beauty was a baby born of this background. Ms. Hsiao was the key architect of the exhibition.
The work, displayed at the exhibition, was a manifest of the art of instinct expressed by abstract brushing and forms as well as her deep thoughts in Zen Buddhism, a state of nothingness and originality of human being’s mind. I believe that her work must have touched the hearts of many a people who had visited her show, including that of mine of course. I was particularly honored to have an opportunity to discuss with her the process of the creation of some pieces of her paintings ; to know how the work was done in the company of music, and with the great emotion and the state of originality that had filled her heart during painting. The kind of feeling must have been also shared by many of the observers.
We thank Ms.Hsiao for her generosity to offer the first show of her work to Yuan Ze, and for the effort trying to combine the ideal of the Path of Beauty with her thoughts in Zen Buddhism.
