昨（12）日晚間將近12時，嘉義市北門車站前百年木造建築發生火警，現場陷入一片火海，火勢相當猛烈。著名景點「玉山旅社咖啡」慘遭火勢摧毀，所幸現場沒有人員受傷，至於起火原因還有待調查釐清。

熊熊烈火不斷從建築物竄出，整個天空被火焰染紅，現場濃煙密布直竄天際，消防人員到場趕緊佈水線灑水灌救。一整排的連棟建築起火燃燒，地點就位在嘉義市北門車站前共和路上的一排百年木造老屋，12日晚間將近12時遭到火神祝融，整片陷入火海，總共延燒了7戶。知名的復古景點玉山旅社咖啡，民國38年開始營業，總是吸引不少遊客造訪拍照，而這場火警總共疏散8名住戶，沒有人員受困受傷。

嘉義市消防局第二大隊副大隊長張英勝：「現場屬於巷道比較狹小，主要現場是木造建築物，火災量相當大，一旦火勢如果讓它延燒起來，就會相當的猛烈。」

現場派出多名打火弟兄，火勢隨後在一個半小時後順利被撲滅，只不過百年老屋以及當地知名景點這回慘遭火警摧毀，讓不少當地民眾感到相當可惜。至於這場大火的起火原因，還有待火調人員調查釐清。
