【浮雲遊子】2007韓國PME記趣(1):什麼是PME?
「IGPME」原名「International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education」,是一個國際性的數學教育心理學會,這個團體每一年暑假都會舉辦一次長達五天的研討會(conference),五天的行程包含研究討論會(Research Forums)、研究報告(Research Reports,簡稱RR)、簡短的報告交流(Short Oral Communications,簡稱SO)、海報展示與介紹(Poster Presentations,簡稱pp)、以及團體活動(Group Activities),其中團體活動的內容又分成討論團體(Discussion Groups)與工作坊(Working Sessions)。
由於IGPME的組成囊括各層級的數學教育相關領域(從基礎數學教育、高等數學教育、數學師資的培育、相關研究的議題、數學教育的發展趨勢……等,只要與數學教育相關的內容都是研討會關注的範疇。),所以除了每天早上的第一場座談會是統一進行之外,其他的研究報告或團體討論時段,是在不同地點同時進行數場不同主題的專題報告與討論,與會人員可以依自己的專長與關注焦點自行選擇參與。此外,研討會的行程中還特別安排一天的參觀活動(excursions),讓參與者可以藉此遊歷該國的文化特色或風景名勝,同時為了招待來自世界各國的專家學者,主辦國通常會舉辦一場晚宴來宴請參與者(平日只提供中餐,晚餐則自理。),根據同行教授的說法,每年的晚宴都會有當地的重要人物出席,多半是主辦城市的市長。
IGPME的組織與行程大致是這樣,不過因為我是PME新鮮人,所以今年是以觀摩的心態來參加,雖然也有簡單的Poster Presentations,但對於PME的理解還不夠深入,儘管如此,對於能有機會參與今年的盛會已感震撼與滿足,期望未來還有機會繼續參與這樣的研討會,以對世界數學教育的趨勢有更深入的了解,並激發出從事數學教育領域研究的企圖心。
