The Youth Camp--A Big Success!!
The Youth Camp was over by now, and everything went on smoothly. Actually, the things had been better than I could expect. I had a great time that I have to share with you guys here.
The day before the camp would be started, I handed to Tamshui, since the camp would be held in 陽明 mountain. The weather at that day was awefully hot, and I was nearly dead. I complained, and signed. But I went anyway. There would be things we always have to face. But things turned out great. The weather was still hot in these three days, but we always had air-condintional, and its even windy sometimes up in the mountain.
The first day, I had a team with nine kids, including my little brother. I did not really know these kids, only some teenagers that are from my church ( But they were not in my team anyway). However, those kids were being sweet. Less than a few hours, the girls started to hang around with me. The boys, although never listened to me, still be with me when I needed them to. We were a team, then. The first day, we played 體驗遊戲 (Adventure Education---http://ww.wesley-grove.idv.tw/)
That was a sorta games that taught you how to reach a goal by Team-Work. Like they have to stand on a wood all together at the same time, or make everyone crossed one woods to another by only two short boards. I have been laughed hard by their expressions, and I have been comforted them while they think they can not do it. But I love the faces they had while trying---that was the best pic I've never seen.
The second day we had another project like 大地遊戲, that was tiresome!! We ran all over the places, everyone was exhausted. After that, we had basketball compete and captain ball game in the afternoon. The weather was so hot by that time, and I could barely stand it. However, we were all expcted the wonderful water-gun game to start. At around 4 o'clock, the hostess finally announced that we were gonna have water-gun game.
We had the rules, actually. Each team should send one person to hold a flag that made of tissue. And the other team mumbers should protect their own flag from shooting down by the water, and at the same time try to shoot others' flags. The tall teenager in our team was hurt by the feet at the basketball game, so I have to be the one holding the flag. And amazingly, NO ONE CARED ABOUT THE RULES. I was sorrunding by many kids in a min, and they shot me happily without caring our flag a bit. After our flag got wet and dropped, those kids started to attack me while I am holding no water-gun. That was so UNFAIR!! I was so wet before anyone ever dump any water from the bucket on me. And before I can understand, those teenagers dumpped me two buckets of water on the back. So I was really so dead by then .......
We had a great time, however. Everyone was so happy and so wet. The hot weather of summertime was suddenly disapper. What's more, these two nights, there were 12 kids who received Jesus, and holding the bible as their treasures. I felt touched by their pure hearts. The last day, we had BBQ. And we had our own "unformal" water-gun game. And of course I was the target with no water-gun on my hand again. We had such a great lunch with wet clothes.
There were some kids I could meet again in the church, but there were kids I could not. However, I do enjoy these three days with them. And I will remember their faces always.I hope they could always be with God, and I will surely pray for them daily. With laughters, I have to admit that the camp was no doubt a Big Success!! ^^
