電影每個切入點都很棒，再來寫一個「Nothing」及「Everything」貫穿了所有的設定，一開始男主角小貝里昂在家鄉失去了妻與子，也失去了信仰及人生意義，甚至遭遇船難一無所有隻身來到聖城，起點是「Nothing」，到了聖城天上就掉下來一堆禮物：領地、忠心的部下、主動獻身的公主、王的寵信，要不讓人看了眼紅太難了，「Everything」。但是男主角始終堅守住信念「I am what I am. Someone has to be.」。我認為每個角色都很有定力也堅守自己的信念啊，即使是那些好戰份子也都適用這句話。

聖城一開始匯聚人種、財富、土地、宗教，戰後血流成河、人心荒蕪，「Nothing」。結局男主角離開了聖城，乍看一無所有，卻得到了一切，「Everything」。

「 It is a kingdom of conscience, or nothing. 」
