從四年前發行到現在
這是極少數我能一聽再聽的專輯
買了三張
一張在家
一張在車上
一張在辦公室
無論如何就是要隨處可及
每次到KTV一定要看看能不能唱這首
雖然我知道這是不可能的事

我不是會徹夜在唱片行前等頭版的人
通常會再電台收聽幾次
作些評估才行動
當The Scientist的第一次在廣播放送
我覺得全身被糾住

回家整個晚上什麼事都不做
時間都耗在音響前
整張歌曲都很棒
而第四首
The Scientist
我想CD上的音軌可能很快就讀不到了

拿起吉他
很快的抓到合弦
但是用吉他的音色當主旋律就是很怪
還是鋼琴最糾心最銷魂

我想曾經失戀過的人們
都無法抵擋這首歌的威力
而這個自以為是的理論
至今竟然毫無反證

高中同學說這是他聽過最棒的感傷的歌
雖然這樣的說法很老套
大學同學說她一聽到The Scientist
她會把前男友們一個一個在腦子裡抓來再次仔細瞧瞧他們的臉

我的新同事
前幾天敲門進我辦公室
正好Chris下第一個音
她激動的說
『誒!誒!你關掉!你關掉!』
『不要放這個!不要放這個啦!』
『我等等就哭給你看!』
我開玩笑的把音量放的更大聲
同事居然馬上掉眼淚
頓時驚覺我作了件壞事

原來她昨天分手
對方說
『我已經找不回以前的感覺了。』
很老套很敷衍的理由
但是Chris唱的很真

我準備要為這篇文章收尾
這樣一直聽很自溺
再放一次吧
這是今晚最後一次
