Creative Lifestyle Stroll: The Shida Area

Creative Lifestyle Stroll: The Shida Area

“Many different styles can be found in Taipei’s alleys,” wrote Lucille Han. “There’s more to the little lanes than just business facilities. A lot of life goes on here too. Commerce doesn’t make the pace of life disappear.” Having lived in the Shida neighborhood for many years, she considers the area to be rich in cultural delights.

The area around National Taiwan Normal University (“Shida”) offers a diversity of flavor day and night. Visitors constantly encounter surprises and fun. Different colors appear in different corners, inducing people out for a walk to extend their stroll to a whole afternoon, or a night.

Suggested route: Pucheng St. stone wall → Coffee Mania → Saturday open-air theater → Former residence of Liang Shih-chiu → “exotic food street” → Lane 93, Shida Road → Salt Peanuts Cafe → Zabu Zabu creative market → old trees in Shida Art Park

Nearby MRT stations: Taipower Building Station
