此曲為同是美國鄉村歌手兼詞曲作家的Max D. Barnes與Merle Haggard共同合作完成，並由Haggaed自行錄唱收錄在其1994發行、名稱也為《1994》的專輯中。

1995，鄉村歌手George Jones與前妻Tammy Wynette (1969-1975)合作了一張錄音室專輯《One》，其中就有翻唱這首《Solid as a Rock》。歌曲說的是對愛情的「堅若磐石」，卻由這對分手情人來詮釋，讓人感覺怪怪的，其實倆人並非「真心的」和解，再次合作恐主要還是出於商業考量，所以唱起來有些「心不在焉」，AllMusic (音樂消費者導覽 )，只給了這張專輯2顆星的評價 ( 最佳為5顆星 )。

以下所貼為愛爾蘭歌手夫妻檔Thomas Maguire & Fhiona Ennis的版本，由於編曲的不同，感覺要比上述的原唱、翻唱都來得好聽。此倆人於2009結婚，雖然不知感情是否Solid as a Rock，但至少已維持了12、3年。

歌詞中述及「福特汽車」堅固可靠，對此台長我可是有些不同意見，從「跑天下」到「天王星」，台長我共開過3台福特車，當年福特車的品質實在也不怎麼樣。
