此首《You're the Reason I'm Living》為美國歌手Bobby Darin於1963的同名專輯中另發行的單曲，成績相當不錯，在告示牌熱門100排行榜拿下第3名。對於台灣歌友來說，Darin最知名的歌曲，應該還是1959的那首《Dream Lover》。

Bobby Darin因參與電影《Come September》( 台譯：金屋春宵，男女主角分別是洛‧赫遜與珍娜‧露露布麗姬妲。) 的演出，因而認識了女配角Sandra Dee，倆人隨即於1960結婚 ( 電影於1961才面世發行 )。在此之前，Darin曾被介紹替義裔女歌手Connie Francis寫歌，倆人因而發展出一段戀情，甚至準備私奔，但及時被Connie的父親阻擋下來並對之亮槍威脅，此使得Darin開始疏遠Connie，Connie雖然感到不甘心，但後來歌唱事業大紅大紫，恐和沒有繼續沉溺於兒女情長也有點關係吧！Darin和Sandra Dee的婚姻維持了7年。

另一件對Darin衝擊頗大的事，是直到32歲才被大他17歲的姊姊Nina告知，他的媽媽其實是他的外婆，她才是他真正的母親，至於誰是他的親生父親，Nina從未告知任何人。

1973，Darin和在一起3年的女友結婚，但僅4個月又離異，同年底，Darin因心臟問題開刀，卻於術後在恢復室時過世，僅享年37歲。

這也是首愛情歌曲，看來男主角遇到了感情上的救星，在生活恐怕也少不了對方，是故成為了「妳是我活著的理由」？翻唱此曲的包含有貓王Elvis Presley和貓王曾經的女友Wanda Jackson等多位歌手。
