此首Bobby Vee的《More Than I Can Say》，60年代初期在台灣真的是紅到不行，無論是大人小孩，就算不知歌詞，都可以來上一句「喔喔耶耶」。更妙的是，香港女歌手Kong Ling(江玲) & The Fabulous Echoes亦及時在同年 (1961) 推出英中混合版的《愛妳在心口難開》( 記得還是在Bobby Vee同張「翻版唱片」的反面 )，更助長了此曲的燎原之勢。

由於當年西洋歌曲的相關資料不足，甚至連台灣知名的樂評人都誤以為此曲的原唱為Bobby Vee ( 台長也是 )，後來才知真正的原唱為Buddy Holly的專屬樂隊The Crickets ( 蟋蟀 ) ，為該團的吉他手和鼓手倆人所合寫。Buddy Holly於1959年初與另兩位歌手因趕作秀搭飛機罹難 ( The Day the Music Died )，The Crickets在Holly死後的1960推出此曲，在英國單曲排行榜獲得第26名。Bobby Vee是由於Buddy Holly的意外身故，臨時被填補秀檔因而竄出頭角的歌手，其對Holly及The Crickets自有一番特殊的情感，翻唱The Crickets的歌曲也理所當然。Bobby Vee的版本於1961推出，獲告示牌熱門榜第62名 ( 英國 #4 / 紐西蘭 #8 )。

1980，英國歌手 ( 後入籍澳洲 ) Leo Sayer翻唱此首《More Than I Can Say》，獲得了大大的成功，拿下了告示牌當代成人榜的冠軍。坦白說，Leo Sayer詮釋此曲，無論是新編曲的吉他或是唱腔表現，較原版更具震撼力，且厲害的是，此版本等於是替再之後的翻唱者定了調。
